What is a fractional engineering leader?

Typically someone with lots of experience functioning as a CTO, VPE, or Principal Engineer who embeds themselves into teams for 10-20 hours per week.

How do you find engineers?

We have a network of 100s of independent consultants that we pull from to find folks for the work we do.

When we can’t find available and well-aligned folks for the work we’re doing within our network we’ll run a search.

How long does it take you to find engineers?

2-3 days if someone within our network is available.

Up to 10 days if we need to run a search.

How do you vet the contractors you find?

Our fractional engineering leaders technically screen the contractors we find.

Our technical screens are specifically designed for the role we’re screening for.

We do not re-use tech screens and we do not run role-independent screens.

Can you help us make full time hires?

You can hire the contractors we provide if they’re interested in coming on full time.

Our fractional engineering leaders can also help to support or drive growth.

How does contract to hire work?

You can hire the independent contractors you’re working with after 20 weeks for a flat fee of $10k provided they’re open to joining full time.

Why are contractors easier to find than full time engineers?

There are more engineers looking for contract work than there is contract work to go around.

How do you make money?

We markup the rates of the independent contractors we work with. Our standard markup is $25 per hour.

How expensive are your engineers?

Most of the engineers we provide range from $50 to $150 per hour.

Most of the fractional leaders we provide range from $200 to $300 per hour.

These ranges are inclusive of our markup.

What type of commitment do you require?

Our contracts are at will and don’t require upfront commitments.

They can be cancelled with 0 days notice.
